With the death of James Ravilious in 1999 the Beaford Archive came to an end but had established a holding of over 80,000 of his images. We started publishing his work and the work of a few others the year after he died. The majority of the black and white photographs relate to the three decades of work he spent recording the life of the rural community in North Devon and as such is one of the largest rural photographic archives in Europe. There is also a film available on DVD. At present there are more than 80 images in the range.
